Dr. Robert Charette is a veterinarian and consultant with extensive experience in swine and poultry health and production. He obtained a B.Sc. in Biology from Université Laval (Québec City) in 1978, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the Université de Montréal in 1981, and a Master’s degree in Veterinary Clinical Sciences from the Université de Montréal in 1995. Early in his career, Dr. Charette worked for a large feed company and swine integrator from 1981 to 1989. From 1990 until his retirement in April 2025, he worked as an independent consultant specializing in swine and poultry medicine, with Pekin duck production representing an important part of his professional activities. In addition to his consulting work, he has operated an R&D company focused on clinical research, database design and management, and computer simulation models. Dr. Charette has authored and co-authored several scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.

Prof. Wence Wang is a Professor and Associate Dean of the College of Animal Science, South China Agricultural University, China. Her research focuses on animal nutrition and feed science, with special emphasis on nutritional metabolism, microbe-host interactions, and the prevention and control of feed mycotoxin contamination, particularly in poultry and waterfowl production systems. Prof. Wang earned her Ph.D. from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and conducted joint doctoral research at the Guelph Research and Development Centre in Canada. She is a Visiting Professor at the University of Cambridge and a recipient of the National Excellent Young Scientists Fund of China. She currently serves as a key scientist in the National Waterfowl Industry Technology System of China, and is an active member of the World's Poultry Science Association and the American Society of Animal Science.

Dr. Fulton is a veterinary pathologist with over 40 years of experience in poultry pathology and medicine. A Professor of Avian Diseases and a Diplomate of the American College of Poultry Veterinarians, he served as a diagnostician, teacher, researcher, and poultry extension veterinarian at Michigan State University.  Dr. Fulton was skilled in training others in avian disease diagnosis, treatment, prevention, control, as well as food safety, biosecurity and the use of personal protective equipment. He has led training on response to catastrophic poultry diseases in Mongolia, Moldova, Macedonia, Transnistria, Egypt, and Nepal as well as led tabletop and farm-based exercises in Bulgaria, Rwanda, and his home state of Michigan.  He has written multiple emergency disease response plans for Michigan as well as making the Avian Influenza response plan for Rwanda actionable. Dr. Fulton has worked to re-establish a veterinary pathology teaching program at Kabul University in Afghanistan and has provided poultry production development and planning, and disease recognition and prevention assistance to commercial poultry producers in Turkmenistan and Myanmar.  Recognized for his excellence in teaching, Dr. Fulton received the 2018 and 2019 Faculty Member of the Year award from the Midwest Poultry Consortium (MPC) Center of Excellence.  Dr. Fulton’s excellence in service to the poultry industry was acknowledged through the 2018 North Central Avian Disease Conference Meritorious Service Award, the 2019 MPC Outstanding Service Award.  His greatest honor was that of being recognized for his distinguished contributions to poultry health by being inducted into the American Association of Avian Pathologists’ Hall of Honor in 2024.  Dr. Fulton has served in positions of responsibility in national, regional, and state organizations, departmental, college, and university committees, as well as local community organizations.   Published widely on avian diseases in multiple book chapters and numerous peer-reviewed journal publications, Dr. Fulton has a B.S. with distinction, D.V.M. and a Ph.D. in veterinary pathology from Purdue University.

Dr. Leni Corrand is a poultry veterinarian with over a decade of experience in poultry health and production. He currently works at ANIBIO Veterinary Group in France, where he provides specialized veterinary support to the poultry industry, with a particular dedication to waterfowl farms. Dr. Corrand completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the Ecole Nationale Veterinaire de Toulouse and subsequently pursued advanced training in poultry medicine as a Resident of the European College of Poultry Veterinary Sciences (ECPVS). During this period, he was involved in clinical case management, diagnostic investigations (pathology, virology, bacteriology), teaching veterinary students, and research activities in poultry virology. Later he worked as a poultry veterinarian at The Minster Veterinary Practice in the United Kingdom, allowing him to continue his ECPVS Residency then to pass his ECPVS examination, therefore becoming a European Diplomate in Poultry Veterinary Sciences. Throughout his career, Dr. Corrand has combined clinical expertise, applied research on emerging viral diseases in ducks and other poultry species, and teaching in the field of poultry medicine.

Dr. Márton József Kiss grew up in a poultry-farming environment, as both of his parents are agricultural engineers. He graduated in 2006 from the University of Veterinary Medicine Budapest. After several years of service as an official veterinarian for the Hungarian government and work in private practice, he joined a large Hungarian goose-producing company in 2016. In 2019, he completed postgraduate studies in poultry specialization. Since 2019, he has been working for Tranzit-Ker Ltd.(part of LDC International) , a major poultry production company that produces approximately 25 million broiler chickens, 9 million Pekin ducks, and 1.5 million meat-type geese annually. He currently serves as the company’s Chief Veterinarian.

ZhuoCheng Hou is a professor at China Agricultural University, and Chief scientist in duck breeding of Beijing Capital Agribusiness & Foods Group (owns Cherry Valley duck, Nankou 1 duck, and Jingdian Pekin duck breeds). Research mainly focused on the avian genetics and breeding, avian genomics, duck production and management. Professor Hou has published hundreds publications in avian genetics, genomics, and production.

Dr. Vincent Guyonnet obtained his veterinary degree from the National Veterinary School of Lyon, France, and his Ph.D. from the Department of Poultry Science at the University of Georgia, Athens. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with the poultry sector, initially from the animal health perspective and later within the egg production, grading, and processing industry at Burnbrae Farms Ltd. He is widely recognized as an authority in the global egg industry. He has authored several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.

Dr. Jean-Pierre Vaillancourt obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the Université de Montréal in 1983 and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in 1990. During his career, he has taught at the University of Guelph and North Carolina State University. In 2004, he became the first professor to receive the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association’s Lamplighter Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the poultry industry and his research on diseases of importance in poultry production. Since 2012, he has also been a member of the Académie vétérinaire de France. Dr. Vaillancourt served as Director of the Research Group on the Epidemiology of Zoonoses and Public Health at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal from 2009 to 2016 and was Associate Director of the Institute for Research in Public Health at the same university. He is widely recognized for his expertise in on-farm biosecurity and control strategies for notifiable infectious diseases.

Dr. Daniel Venne received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the Université de Montréal in 1990 and completed a Master’s degree in Pathology and Microbiology in 1993, with a focus on avian immunology and virology.
He began his career with a major feed company, where he worked from 1991 to 1998. He later served as Vice-President of Technical Services at Select Biologics for two years before joining Scott Limited Hatchery, where he worked for more than two decades until 2022.
Dr. Venne subsequently worked with Ceva Animal Health from 2022 to 2024. He is currently a poultry veterinarian with Demeter Veterinary Services in Canada.
Throughout his career, Dr. Venne has authored several scientific publications and serves as an associate editor of the Manual of Poultry Diseases.
