WVEPAH’s Broiler and Breeder Course in Dakar, September 2025
The World Veterinary Education in Production Animal Health (WVEPAH) successfully held its Module II Broilers and Breeders continuing education course from September 29 to October 3, 2025, at the École Inter-États des Sciences et Médecine Vétérinaires (EISMV) in Dakar, Senegal.
This hybrid course, consisting of a 45-hour online component followed by an intensive 35-hour in-person module, brought together veterinarians and poultry professionals from 5 countries across the region, deepening practical knowledge in poultry health management under the One Health approach.
Residential week
The module opened with a presentation of the WVEPAH program by Dr. Pierre Cadot and Dr. Vincent Guyonnet, followed by specialist lectures and interactive sessions covering critical topics in poultry production and health:

Practical Learning and On-Site Application
Participants also engaged in practical sessions led by the EISMV local team and participated in a field visit, applying diagnostic and management skills in real farm conditions. These practical experiences are at the core of WVEPAH’s mission to provide operational training that directly supports improved production, animal welfare, and public health outcomes.
