General course information

  • This course will provide high-quality postgraduate training for professionals in waterfowl medicine and production.
  • It builds on concepts presented in Module 1 (although not a prerequisite for attending this course) covering on specifics of waterfowl genetics, production, nutrition, incubation, infectious and non infectious diseases, diagnostics.
  • The course will offer also an opportunity for the participants to perform post-mortem examinations, to aquire waterfowl specific knowledge about sampling techniques and requirements for diagnostic purposes as well as a full-day field visit.
  • This course will be taught in English by an international team of Course Masters, including some professors from the National Veterinary School of Toulouse (École Nationale Vétérinaire de Toulouse).
  • In advance of the course, the attendees will be expected to complete some preparatory work including the review of videos available on the following website from Cornell University: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLzf8tGKj10zzE5jXlhAxw5Z7UaPJV6aIB as well as the preparation of 3 clinical cases to be presented during the 2-week program.
  • The exam for this module will be administered online by the Faculté de médecine vétérinaire de l’Université de Montréal, within a few weeks of the completion of this course.
