Dr. Gingerich is active in many professional associations including the ACPV, AAAP (Poultry Research Priorities Committee 2000 2006, Epidemiology Committee 2000 2009, Respiratory Diseases Committee 2001 2008, Animal Welfare Committee 2000 Present), the AVMA and the Penn Ag Industries Poultry Council (Poultry Health Committee 2000 2010, Pennsylvania Egg Quality Assurance Program (PEQAP) Oversight Committee 2000 2010, Egg and meat Bird Committee 2000- Present). He has taught various subjects including introductory and advanced poultry medicine, poultry production medicine, poultry diagnostic techniques, animal production systems and food safety rotation from 1983 to 2010. He has also supervised Stubbs Fellowship Summer Students and professionals from other countries. Dr. Gingerich has been an invited speaker and/or author of 74 publications and lectures including articles in Avian Diseases, Poultry Science and the Encyclopedia of Animal Science. He has also served as the principal or co-principal investigator or primary assistant in 11 projects from 1999 2007.
